VI. Love flows in streams from the Cross with the Blood of Jesus. I would wish to detach the body of the divine Crucified and take it in my arms, to place my lips on each of the wounds and to heal them with my kisses.

Yesterday after Holy Communion, being intimately united to Jesus, I saw in His Sacred Heart His desires as God: He wishes that Love be diffused, that It inflame the world and renew it! It is no longer by the waters of a new deluge that God wishes to purify and regenerate the earth, but by fire.

The minds and wills of people have been led astray; the world which needs purification is, above all, the world of intellects and of souls; this is why the fire which God wishes to employ is an altogether spiritual fire. Love and Mercy must be preached to every creature, for the Heart of God has an immense desire to pardon; if He sees even a little love in a heart in response to His, He pardons. But my soul suffers strange sorrows at the sight of the indifference and coldness of the greater part of Christians, and the little correspondence which the love of God finds in the hearts of His creatures; but how it suffers also at being able to love so little what it sees to be so amiable and so desirous of love!

Who thinks of the love of God? Who believes as he should in His Mercy? And yet God is Charity; His works are all works of love, and His Mercy is eternal and infinite.

One day, prostrate at the feet of Jesus I called Him the only good of my soul, the sovereign love of my heart, the infinite treasure of all riches, and in the end I said to Him: my Jesus, how dost Thou wish that I should call Thee? And He replied to me: " Call me Mercy."

O, my Sweet Mercy, O Jesus, grant that being brought back to Thee by the attraction of Thy Mercy, we may live by Thy love and for Thy love!

VII. This morning after Holy Communion, I remained lost in adoration and love, annihilated within myself to the very depths of my being; and I seemed to hear about me the multitude of heavenly spirits singing and exalting divine Mercy; and it was because Jesus had just united Himself to me, the most miserable, the most feeble and the most impure of creatures.

O Love! Jesus living in me wished to console me for my poverty and my miseries by showing me that He knew how to draw from them His glory and the praises of His Mercy.

Jesus, my life, my light, Thou who dost unite Thyself to my sinful soul, I love Thee; yes, I love Thee, but I love Thee too little. I would wish to love Thee passionately with all the powers of my soul, with all the feeble light of my
